MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A pickup truck crash in Montgomery County left one man dead and another person hospitalized Thursday night after the vehicle flipped and struck two cars stopped at a red light. Police said the crash happened at about 9:53 p.m. on July 30 at the intersection of University Boulevard East and Colesville Road in Four Corners. The pickup, a Chevrolet Silverado, had been traveling west when it left the roadway for reasons investigators have not yet determined. The truck then hit a guardrail, two trees and a utility pole before overturning.
How The Crash Unfolded
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, the Silverado continued into the intersection after rolling over and struck the rear of two vehicles that were already stopped at the light. The force of the crash caused a dangerous scene at a busy intersection in the Four Corners area. Investigators said the driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released because family members have not yet been notified. Police have not said what caused the truck to veer off the road.

A male passenger riding in the pickup was taken to a hospital with injuries that police described as not critical. The drivers of the two other cars were not hurt, authorities said.
